The first days of Summer SEK at SEK-Catalunya have been filled with excitement, curiosity, and a desire to discover new things. Through the Mini Explorers and Junior Explorers programmes, students enjoy daily activities designed to help them learn, experiment, and develop new skills while experiencing a summer full of unforgettable moments.
Mini Explorers: Learning Through Play
In Mini Explorers, our youngest participants take part in activities that stimulate their imagination, encourage creativity, and inspire them to learn through active, hands-on experiences.
During these first days, students have become little architects thanks to a fun challenge set by Archie, our Architect Helper. Guided by blueprints and using a variety of materials, they have designed and built their own creations while developing skills such as spatial awareness, problem-solving, and teamwork.
Experimentation has also played a key role. Using shaving foam as if it were cement, children have discovered new ways to build while enhancing their fine motor skills, coordination, and creativity in a safe and stimulating environment.
Alongside these activities, sensory workshops, outdoor games, and water-based activities complete a programme designed to make each day a new adventure.
Junior Explorers: New Experiences Every Week
Meanwhile, students in Junior Explorers have started the summer with a programme full of challenges, sports, and outdoor activities.
One of their first excursions was a visit to Vallromanes Golf Club, where they took part in an introductory golf session. Through a practical learning approach, they discovered the fundamentals of the sport while developing skills such as concentration, coordination, perseverance, and self-confidence.
These experiences form part of the weekly excursion programme, designed to introduce students to new environments, spark their curiosity, and provide learning opportunities beyond the classroom.
A Summer of Growth and Discovery
At SEK-Catalunya, summer is also an opportunity to continue learning. Every Summer SEK activity has an educational purpose that combines play, experimentation, and active learning. Building, exploring, practising new sports, working as a team, and overcoming everyday challenges are experiences that help students develop essential skills while enjoying a unique and enriching summer holiday.
